Jeff Flake event forced to change venues because of security concerns around the embattled senator

Flake, an outgoing senator from Arizona, found himself in the throes of Kavanaugh’s contentious Supreme Court nomination Friday when he agreed to support the judge’s nomination in the Senate Judiciary Committee under the condition the feds investigate accusations of sexual misconduct against President Trump’s nominated jurist dating back to the 1980s. The 55-year-old Snowflake, Ariz., native claims his family has received death threats during the Kavanaugh hearings. Specifics of Emerson’s decision to withdraw from the event weren’t clear.
