Teen shot, seeks help from Grand Rapids school

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — Police say a teenager sought help at a Grand Rapids school after he was shot nearby.

The teen’s injury was not considered life-threatening. The shooting occurred Thursday near Ottawa Hills High School. Ottawa Hills and other schools in the area kept students inside while police completed the investigation.

Grand Rapids schools spokesman John Helmholdt says the injured teen isn’t an Ottawa Hills student.

Police say the shooter drove away.
